AGCRA Medal of Excellence

For Obtaining the Highest Overall Class Standing in Academics, Physical Fitness, and Leadership

HISTORY: This award is for outstanding performance in academics, physical fitness and leadership while attending Advanced Individual Training.

PURPOSE: To promote excellence in academics, physical fitness, and leadership by recognizing the overall outstanding graduate of Adjutant General’s Corps Advanced Individual Training courses.

PERSONS ELIGIBLE: Any AIT soldier in an AG Corps Advanced Individual Training course.

CRITERIA: As established by the host school which determines the overall outstanding class graduate based on academics, physical, and leadership.

COST: To be borne by the Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association.

RECOMMENDING PROCEDURES: School Commandants, Directors, or their appointed representatives will recommend each qualified member. A graduation report listing the person receiving the AGCRA Medal of Excellence will be forwarded to the Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association, ATTN: VP for Awards, PO Box 10026, Fort Jackson, SC 29207-0026or by email.

APPROVAL PROCESS: The School Commandants, Directors, or their appointed representatives will verify the awardee’s eligibility and prepare the previously signed certificate with the awardee’s name, class, and date.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF AWARDS: Award recipients will be published in “1775″.

PRESENTATION OF AWARDS: The medals and certificates should be presented at graduation ceremonies.

RECORDING OF AWARDS: All awards will be recorded by entering the recipient’s name and rank in a database maintained by the Awards Custodian.

REVOCATION OF AWARDS: In the unlikely event that information becomes available that a fraudulent award has been made, or dishonorable conduct is substantiated, the Awards Board can revoke this award.
