AG Corps HOF inductee selections were made by a board comprised of currently serving AG Corps senior leaders. AG Corps HOF induction criteria requires 75 percent approval by voting HOF board members. AG Corps HOF selection was made based on the criteria of inductees accomplishing positive, lasting and significant contributions that perpetuate the history and traditions of the U.S. Army Adjutant General’s Corps.

The AG School will honor and recognize the achievements of the 2012 AG Corps HOF Class and DMORs during AG Corps HOF and DMOR Induction Ceremony, 1 June 2012, at Fort Jackson, SC. The National AG Ball will also be executed in the evening on 1 June 2012 at the Doubletree Hotel & Convention Center, Columbia, SC.

AGCRA Awards Program – Changes and the New Superior Lifetime Achievemenet Award

AGCRA GATES GOLD & BRONZE MEDAL CHANGES,
INTRODUCING THE NEW SUPERIOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD,
AND PROMOTING THE AGCRA ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL

The Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association (AGCRA) Executive Council, through majority vote, announces the awards criteria changes below for the AGCRA Gates Gold and Bronze Medals effective 1 March 2012, announces the new Superior Lifetime Achievement Award, and fully encourages promoting the AGCRA Achievement Medal.

Gates Gold Medal Changes:

  • The inclusive dates for the award for the Gates Gold Medal must now cover at least 24 months (minimum).  The award nominee must be an AGCRA member during the inclusive dates of the award period.  There can be no overlap for Gates Gold Medal recommendations.
  • The second award of the Gates Gold Medal will now be called the Superior Lifetime Achievement Award.  The Superior Lifetime Achievement Award will follow the same awards selection criteria as the Gates Gold Medal.
  • Reminder – The Gates Gold Medal still requires significant achievement and distinguished service to the Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association AND the Adjutant General’s Corps or Army Human Resources Community.

Gates Bronze Changes:

  • The Gates Bronze Medal will now require significant achievement and distinguished service to the Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association AND the Adjutant General’s Corps or Army Human Resources Community.
  • The inclusive dates for the award for the Gates Bronze Medal must now cover an extended period of time.  The extended period of time is not defined, but rules out consideration of an achievement type award based on AGCRA Executive Council interpretation.  The award nominee must be an AGCRA member during the inclusive dates of the award period.

Promoting the AGCRA Achievement Medal:

  • All Superior Lifetime Achievement Award, Gates Gold Medal or Gates Bronze Medal nominations disapproved by the AGCRA Executive Council will be considered for approval of the AGCRA Achievement Medal by the AGCRA President.
  • Reminder – All AGCRA Chapter Presidents have AGCRA Achievement Medal approval authority.
  • All Achievement Medal recipients must be AGCRA members at the time of presentation (minimum).

Other AGCRA Awards News:

  • Based on the increased cost of precious metals, the Gates Bronze Medal now costs $35.00 and the Gates Gold medal is $40.00.  There is no change in price for the Achievement and Honorary Gates Medals.
  • Awards should be submitted at least 30 days prior to the presentation date to allow time for AGCRA Executive Council voting, preparation of the medal and certificate, and shipping.  Shipping charges for first class or priority mail are included in the cost of each award.  If expedited shipping is used, the recommender will pay the increased shipping costs.
  • AGCRA award payments can be made by check payable to AGCRA, or we can process a personal credit card through the Association’s PayPal account.  AGCRA accepts MasterCard, Visa or Discover.
  • Reminder – AGCRA awards are not intended to be retirement awards.  Presenting the award before retirement allows the recipient to wear the award at AG Corps Regimental functions while still on active duty or serving as a DOD / DA civilian employee.  Note, retirees are also authorized to wear AGCRA awards at AG Corps Regimental functions.

AGCRA award recommendations will be submitted as follows:

  • Primary Method – Scan & Email to:  awards@agcra.com
  • Secondary Method – Mailing Address:  Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association, P.O. Box 10026, Fort Jackson, SC  29207

AGCRA 2011 Scholarship Winners

Message for the Field

AG Corps Regimental Association Leaders,

It is my distinct honor and pleasure to announce the 2011 first annual AGCRA $1000 scholarship winners:

Courtney Kubanek
Brittany Pruitt
Lauren Rideout
Ashley Thomas

These young, aspiring college students faced some REALLY stiff competition. Based on their academic performance, community service, and ability to articulate future goals they were voted as most qualified to receive these scholarships made possible by active ACGRA membership dues and AG Regimental Print purchases.

Thanks to all AGCRA members for your participation! I ask you all to continue to promote our professional association and AG Regimental Print so we can continue to do great things for AG Corps and their families…like this!

We’re off to a great start, but remember, this is only the first year of a new and continuous AGCRA scholarship program. The scholarships will be primarily supported by sales of our beautiful and historic AG Print. So…don’t put off buying it any longer; they’re goin’ fast!

Defend and Serve!
