Adjutant General’s Corps Hall of Fame – Class of 2016

Army HR Leaders (Present and Past),

On behalf of COL Jack L. Usrey, 18th Chief of the Adjutant General’s Corps, it gives me great pleasure to announce the selection of the 2016 Class of the AG Corps Hall of Fame (HOF).

The 2016 AG Corps HOF inductees are:

MG (Ret) Arthur T. Dean

MG (Ret) Reuben Jones

COL (Ret) Billy J. Orr

COL (Ret) David E. Tighe

LTC (Ret) John W. Jackson

SGM (Ret) Thomas S. Gills

The AG Corps Hall of Fame officially opened on 11 June 2010. The AG Corps Hall of Fame exists to recognize and honor persons who have made positive, lasting and significant contributions to the AG Corps.

AG Corps HOF members are honored with a permanent display in the AG Corps Hall of Honor at the Adjutant General School, Fort Jackson, SC.

AG Corps HOF inductee selections were made by a board comprised of currently serving and HOF AG Corps senior leaders, with Board Member representation from our Officer, Warrant Officer and Enlisted ranks. AG Corps HOF selection is made based on the criteria of inductees accomplishing positive, lasting and significant contributions that truly perpetuate the history and traditions of the U.S. Army Adjutant General’s Corps. AG Corps HOF inductees are recognized using the last rank held on active duty.

The AG School will honor and recognize the achievements of the 2016 AG Corps HOF Class during the AG Corps HOF Induction Ceremony, 3 June 2016, at Fort Jackson, SC. The National AG Ball will also be executed the evening of 3 June 2016 at the Columbia Convention Center, Columbia, SC (formal announcement and details are forthcoming).

Please note that the 2016 AG Corps Distinguished Members of the Regiment (DMOR) will be announced soon. AG Corps DMOR members will also be recognized at the AG Corps HOF Induction Ceremony on 3 June 2016 and honored with a permanent display in the AG Corps Hall of Honor at the Adjutant General School.

Again, congratulations to the 2016 Class of the AG Corps Hall of Fame.

DEFEND AND SERVE!

Very respectfully,

v/r Mike

  1. Note for the two inductees listed below:

I just wanted to reach out and congratulate you both on your selection to the HOF. I had the honor of working with both COL (Ret) David E. Tighe and SGM (Ret) Thomas S. Gills over the
years and it brings great joy to see that you guys hard work has paid off.

After working with these great Americans I went on to do great things for our Army and Nation and continue to do so as a retired Chief Warrant Officer Four who has just accepted a job working for the AFRICOM J1. You may not know this, but you are someone that I consider as a mentor and someone I will never forget. You both made a differences in our Corps. The advice you gave to me many years ago, I took to heart and it made me a better person, leader, and AG Soldier. Your selection is well deserved and the AG Corps got this one right! Congrats!!!

I will definitely try to make it to your induction ceremony.
