1. AWARD OF THE ARMED FORCES SERVICE MEDAL (AFSM) FOR DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SUPPORT TO CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION. From HRC Awards and Decorations Branch: The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness has authorized the award of the Armed Forces Service Medal (AFSM) for DoD Support to Customs and Border Protection. The Period of Award (POA) is April 7, 2018 to a future “to be determined” termination date. All Active and Reserve Component Service personnel (including National Guard) who deploy to the AOE during the POA and meet eligibility criteria contained in AR 600-8-22 are eligible to receive the AFSM. 3. THE 3D U.S. INFANTRY REGIMENT (THE OLD GUARD) IS SEEKING HIGHLY MOTIVATED ACTIVE DUTY ENLISTED SOLDIERS. Located at Joint Base Myer Henderson-Hall in Arlington, Virginia, The Old Guard is the oldest active Infantry Regiment in the U.S. Army. The unit serves as the Official Escort to the President of the United States and is our nation’s premier Memorial Affairs and Ceremonial Unit. In addition, The Old Guard is charged with the defense of the National Capital region. AGCRA Membership Drive 1 Sept – 31 Oct 2019

The AGCRA President has set a goal of 4,000 AGCRA members by the end of 2019.  So the Association will conduct its next membership drive on 1 September – 31 October 2019.  The membership drive is also an excellent opportunity for Chapters to raise funds for their respective treasury.  There are two ways to raise Chapter funds:

1.  Grant #1 – Be one of the top three AGCRA Chapters that produce the largest net gain in overall membership proceeds raised with a minimum of $1,000.00 in net proceeds.

1st Place Chapter:  $1,500
2nd Place Chapter:  $1,000
3rd Place Chapter:  $500

2.  Grant #2 – Be one of the top three AGCRA Chapters that produce the largest percentage gains in membership to their local Chapter (to include both new and renewed members).  To qualify, Chapters must have a minimum of fifteen (15) new members or renewals.

1st Place Chapter:  $750
2nd Place Chapter:  $500
3rd Place Chapter:  $250

3.  Note – a Chapter can only win in one of the two Grants listed above.

1. DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY STRATEGIC LANGUAGE LIST FOR GENERAL PURPOSE FORCES, 8 AUG 19. From HRC Incentives and Compensation Branch:  The Army is issuing the enclosed (at following link) implementation guidance with updated Army Strategic Language List (SLL) for General Purpose Forces (non-Army Special Operations Forces) to provide both the Army and the Department of Defense with Soldiers that are proficient in a foreign language. 2. FY20 FALL ADJUTANT GENERAL SCHOOL (AGS) HR CREDENTIALING PROGRAM. From AG Proponency: The Adjutant General School (AGS) is pleased to announce open enrollment for the FY20 Fall, AG School Credentialing Program.  Qualified Soldiers, from all components, may apply for this opportunity to participate in the credentialing program. The purpose of the credentialing program is to provide professional self-development opportunities to impact Army HR and Music through education of AG Soldiers, as well as improve Soldiers’ private sector marketability during transition from the military.  The program is being expanded to include a wider range of credentials that can positively affect AG Soldiers during their lifecycle. 3. DoD SAFE (SECURE ACCESS FILE EXCHANGE) SERVICE. DoD SAFE is a new service (replacing AMRDEC SAFE) to make it easy for you to exchange unclassified files up to 8.0 GB that can’t be sent through email. Only unclassified data is permitted. There are two distinct kinds of users that will be accessing the DoD SAFE system: inside users, who are associated with the DoD and have a CAC (Common Access Card), and outside users, which encompasses the rest of the Internet. An inside (CAC authenticated) user is allowed to send a drop-off to anyone, whether they are an inside or outside user.
