Maude Leadership Lecture Series – 5 November 2019

The Maude Leadership Lecture Series is held twice a year at Fort Jackson, SC and is held in honor of the LTG Timothy J. Maude, the Army’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, who was killed in the attack on the Pentagon on the morning of September 11, 2001.  The mission of the lecture series is to provide Soldiers, leaders, and community members with increased opportunities to enhance their leadership skills by engaging with military and civilian senior leaders.

1. iPERMS 2.0 IS LIVE – HERE IS A SHORTCUT/TIP/TRICK. From the HRC iPERMS Team: If your report criteria is based on UICs, you can select the list of UPCs one by one from the dropdown list, OR, in the Criteria: text box, you can paste your Soldier Criteria. 2. NEW 2.0 iPERMS CLASSES POSTED IN RCMS. From the HRC iPERMS Team: Army Reserve can now sign up for FY20 classes for the new iPERMS system in RCMS.  There are many dates and locations for your convenience.  This is a great class to learn the new system and to refine your input/RM skills. It is three days of iPERMS and one day of eSRB training. We cover Record Management, Scan Operator, Record Manager, RRT and Digital Forgery. b. (FORSCOM) HOW TO IMPROVE PROPER ACCOUNTABILITY AND CORRECT COMMON ERRORS IN THE MEAL ENTITLEMENT MAINTENANCE SYSTEM (AUTOMATED MEAL CARD PROGRAM). From the FORSCOM G-1: Units should update the Soldiers’ Common Access Card (CAC) Meal Entitlement Code (MEC), MEC expiration and duty UIC during in and out-processing to ensure the Meal Entitlement Maintenance system is properly updated.  The MEC reason PCS/Transition should be used for those Soldiers that are departing the unit, and the expiration date should be set to their last day in the Army or report date to their gaining unit.  See a review of common errors and additional information at the following link.  https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-681913

a. ALARACT 070/2019, ARMY FILING INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPOUSE STATE RE-LICENSURE AND RECERTIFICATION COSTS REIMBURSEMENT, DTG: R 111000Z OCT 19. This message clarifies and simplifies filing and processing instructions originally set forth in ALARACT 036/2019 which is now inactive. Army Directive 2019-18, Reimbursement for State Licensure and Certification Costs for the Spouse of a Soldier Arising From a Permanent Change of Station, 1 May 19  provides instructions for filing reimbursement for the policy set forth therein. The provisions of Army Dir 2019-18 apply to Regular Army, Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States, and U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers that were reassigned from a duty station in one state to another duty station in another state on or after 12 December 2017.  https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-621946

This message provides updated guidance on the transition from the UCP (commonly referred to as the digital pattern) Army Combat Uniform to the Operational Camouflage Pattern Army Combat Uniform and personal clothing items authorized for wear with UCP OCIE items. This message also provides clarification on the difference between personal clothing (clothing bag) and OCIE. The purpose of this message is to provide guidance concerning granting leave in conjunction with permanent change of station (PCS).  Clarification is necessary to eliminate any confusion across the Army as it relates to the “TO DATE” on the DA Form 31 (Request and Authority for Leave) and the Reporting Date on PCS orders. Commanders must ensure when approving PCS leave, the “TO DATE” in block (10b) of the DA Form 31 is the same day as the Reporting Date in the Soldier’s PCS orders. 1. THE COMMANDER’S GUIDE TO THE ARMY TALENT ALIGNMENT PROCESS (ATAP).
