1st Cavalry Division Celebrates the Adjutant General’s Corps’ 247th Birthday

On June 16th, while most organizations were running to the finish line to prepare for the four-day weekend, the 1st Cavalry Division G1 gathered Army HR professionals to recognize the AG Corps’ 247th Birthday.

In genuine, “Live the Legend” fashion, representatives from each subordinate Brigade dawned on Stetsons and Spurs before the G1/S1 synch. LTC Shay O’Neal (Pegasus 1), 1st Cavalry Division G1, delivered opening remarks describing the AG Corps’ long history and the challenges ahead and thanked everyone for their hard work. Additionally, the Division’s HR professionals unveiled a new addition to the walls of the G1 office, an AGCRA commissioned AG Corps Print, “Washington’s Watch Chain” by world-renowned artist Mort Kunstler.

The print hanging in the Division G1 will serve as a daily reminder of the importance of AG Corps’ Soldiers to Commanders. The team closed the celebration by having the oldest and youngest AG Soldiers in attendance cut a birthday cake with the G1 saber.

As Army HR professionals, it is hard to find time to celebrate; however, it is essential to remember our history. The Army HR professionals of the 1st Cavalry Division understand the importance of commemorating AG Corps history and showing gratitude to our hardworking Soldiers. Join our team!

People First! Live the Legend! Winning Matters! Shields Up! Defend & Serve!
