AG School HR Credentialing Program enrollment Window will Open this Month

Fort Jackson, SC – The Adjutant General School (AGS) HR Credentialing Program enrollment window will open this month.  Watch out for notification of open enrollment on S1Net messages towards the end of August 2019.

There is no cost for Soldiers who want to enroll in order to obtain a civilian HR credential.  The Adjutant General School pays for the preparatory course, professional membership, and certification examination fee.  Enrollment is open to all component Soldiers (AC / NG / USAR) and all ranks.  Additionally, Soldiers can earn up to 50 promotion points.

There are also no TDY requirements to enroll in the HR Credentialing Program.  Online learning with textbooks are sent to your home.

The purpose of the AGS Credentialing Program is to provide professional self-development opportunities, at least twice a year, to impact Army HR and Music through the education of AG Soldiers, as well as improving Soldiers’ private sector marketability during and after transition from the military.  The program has been expanded to include a wider range of credentials that can positively impact AG Soldiers during their careers.  

The program currently includes the Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM), and Microsoft Office Suites (MOS) Master, Expert and Basic Levels.

Eligibility:

1.  aPHR, PHR and SPHR credentials are open to: CMF/AOC: 42A, 420A, 42B/H.

2.  CAPM, PMP and MOS credentials are only open to:  42A/R/S, 420A/C, 42B/C/H.

AG School Credentialing Program is Open for Enrollment

The Adjutant General School (AGS) is pleased to announce open enrollment for the FY 19 Spring, AG School Credentialing Program.  Qualified Soldiers, from all components, may apply for this opportunity to participate in the credentialing program.

The purpose of the credentialing program is to provide professional self-development opportunities to impact Army HR and Music through education of AG Soldiers, as well as improve Soldiers’ private sector marketability during transition from the military.  The program is being expanded to include a wider range of credentials that can positively affect AG Soldiers during their lifecycle.  Additionally, credentialing opportunities are now available to CMF/AOC 42 Army Musicians.

All preparatory courseware and examination fees are funded by the AG school.  Expenses incurred by the student outside of the provided courseware and examination fee cannot be reimbursed by the AG School.  Selected Soldiers must meet established preparatory timelines and be able to work independently with little to no assistance.  There is no TDY involved.

The program currently includes the following:

  • Human Resources Credentialing:
    Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR)
    Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
    Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
  • aPHR, PHR and SPHR open to 42A, 420A, 42B/H only
  • Project Management Credentialing
    Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

  • CAPM, PMP and MOS open to 42A/R/S, 420A/C, 42H/C

Deadline for completed applications is 15 March 2019.

Please visit the AG School website for prerequisites and requirements to participate in each program.  Type the URL http://www.ags.army.mil/ in your search engine.  Then scroll down to the bottom of AG School homepage.  At the bottom right select “HR Credentialing”.
– Select “DOD Email” certificate, enter PIN and select ok
– Select “I Accept” to access HR Credentialing homepage
– Select “Packet Request” to view each credentialing programs prerequisites and requirements.
