Update, 26 October 2018

1. RECOMMENDED PRE-DEPLOYMENT TRAINING FOR HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) PROFESSIONALS AND SRC-12 UNITS. From USARCENT G-1: During the most recent deployment of the 310th HRSC it was discovered that incoming HR Soldiers and SRC-12 units were arriving into theater untrained. To validate this observation, the 310th HRSC Senior Warrant Officer created a simple survey which was distributed by email in order to obtain quantitative data to confirm or refute the existing perception.  The responses, combined with additional feedback from the field, were broken down into core functional training to determine which areas required more focus in terms of specific human resources training.  Attached at the following link are areas that USARCENT G-1 Plans and Operations Branch recommends units pay closer attention when conducting pre-deployment training. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-536118

2. SGLV 8286s. From Army Soldier Records Branch, HRC: SGLV 8286s MUST be processed in SOES.  Army Soldier Records Branch technicians will not process SGLV 8286s that are submitted to iPERMS in a batch. The only exception is for University cadets without a CAC whose admin personnel are submitting the SGLV 8286 as part of their accession packet. Visit the following link for more information. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/message/784179

3. SGLI ZERO OR DECLINATION OF COVERAGE. From the SOES Team: The SOES team has discovered that any Soldier that declined SGLI coverage prior to SOES (1 October 2017) would have had $0 SGLI coverage loaded into SOES. These Soldiers cannot confirm and certify the declination (they have already declined coverage and their documented declination should already be in iPERMS). They may however request an increase in coverage, confirm and certify, which would generate a SOES document transfer to iPERMS. In July of 2019 the Army will submit a request to the DMDC SOES team to allow annual updates, recertifying zero coverage, pay inquiry for correcting premium coverage amounts and unit status reports at the brigade level or division level. Visit the following link for more information. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-536179

Update, 26 July 2018

1. REMINDER: THE SERVICEMEMBERS’ GROUP LIFE INSURANCE ONLINE ENROLLMENT SYSTEM (SOES) IMPLEMENTATION WINDOW CLOSES ON 30 SEPTEMBER 2018. From Casualty & Mortuary Affairs Operations Division (CMAOD):  This is a reminder that approximately 324,715 Soldiers still need to certify their SGLV in the SOES application before the Army’s SOES Implementation window closes in 10 weeks on 30 September 2018. As of 23 July 2018, the Army has confirmed and certified a total of 667,462 SGLV forms in SOES across all Components: Active Duty 80.47% (376,848), Army Reserve 58.93% (111,608) and Army National Guard 53.52% (179,006). The Total Army is currently 13.83% behind glide path, primarily due to lower certification levels in the Reserve Components for SOES implementation. Visit the following link for more information. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-400945

2. SGLV 8286S AND iPERMS.  From HRC Army Soldier Records Branch: Starting on Sunday, July 22nd, the service that sends SGLV 8286s to iPERMS from SOES began experiencing technical difficulties.  The SGLV 8286s are being processed in SOES and will be transmitted to iPERMS once the service is restored. There is no need to upload these SGLV 8286s to iPERMS through the Scan Operator Role. Casualty personnel have access to the SGLV 8286s through SOES. The DD93/SGLV report in iPERMS will not accurately reflect updates for those SGLV 8286s in the queue to be processed until they have reached the Soldier’s record. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/message/772783

3. MEDPROS HEARING READINESS UPDATE DELAYS. From OTSG: MEDPROS will be unable to update Soldier Hearing Readiness Classifications until access to the DOEHRS-HC Data Repository (DR) is restored. The DOEHRS-HC DR is projected to be unavailable for at least two more weeks due to a lapse in DOEHRS-HC Tier III contract support.  The DOEHRS-HC desktop application can be used as a standalone system and the Hearing Readiness mission can continue during the DOEHRS-HC DR downtime.  Hearing tests conducted during the downtime will be exported to the DOEHRS-HC DR after access is restored.  Soldiers that complete a hearing evaluation during the downtime may show as RED/Not Ready in MEDPROS.  After the DOEHRS-HC DR is back online, the exported hearing test data will be processed and MEDPROS will be able to retrieve the data and update Hearing Readiness Classifications.  https://www.milsuite.mil/book/message/772620

4. U.S. ARMY SERGEANTS MAJOR ACADEMY FELLOWSHIP (USASMA).
