Tampa “Lightning Bolts” Awaken a New Chapter

The AGCRA members of the Tampa area have come together to form our newest Chapter.  The “Lightning Bolt” chapter takes its name from the “fire from the heavens” that in ancient times was believed to come out of nowhere to instantly awaken new thoughts and ideas.  Tampa, Florida is well known for the numerous lightning strikes that occur within the city each year.  The provisional group met on August 17, 2018 and the 40 members in attendance decided unanimously to create a separate and distinct chapter for the Tampa area.  Tampa is home to US Central Command (CENTCOM) and US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) headquarters.  While a large forward presence of USCENTCOM is based in Kuwait, which has the Patton’s Gateway Chapter, the membership in Tampa felt they were better represented by having a separate group. The members petitioned the National Executive Council who approved the new chapter on September 17, 2018.  AGCRA members stationed in the Tampa area may affiliate with the Lightning Bolt Chapter on their membership profile.

  1. I am a little late in posting this comment, but very proud of the Lightning Bolt TEAM in Tampa! Great pic of the TEAM; I would like to see many, many more pics and stories that tell your story. Let’s get them loaded. Hope to see you see when I get down there to visit my hometown (GO USF BULLS!). You’ve got MG (Ret) Mustion and BG (Ret) MacEwen living in your area, hope you will invite them to come and talk to you and tap into all the knowledge they can pass on to you–two Great AG Soldiers for Life! GO BOLTS!
    Defend and Serve!
