2. IPPS-A ITEMS.

a.  IPPS-A “A DAY IN THE LIFE” WEBINAR SERIES – USING IPPS-A ANALYTIC TOOLS FOR UNIT LEVEL STRENGTH MGMT. – 12 OCT 2022. Attached at the following link is the CONOP for the IPPS-A “A Day in the Life” Webinar Series – Using IPPS-A Analytic Tools for Unit Level Strength Management on 12 OCT 2022. The FMD Training Team will be conducting two sessions at 1100 EDT and 1900 EDT. b. IPPS-A R3 ROLES AND PERMISSIONS TRAINING SERIES: PART II – 18 OCTOBER 2022 (VALIDATOR OVERVIEW). Attached is the CONOP for the IPPS-A R3 Roles and Permissions Training Series Part II – Validator Overview. During Part II of the three-part series, the IPPS-A FMD Audit/Internal Controls team will familiarize users with responsibilities of Validator/Validator Administrator, different types of Validators, Roles and Permissions Matrix, and approval and denial of access requests. a. FORT BRAGG IRON MIKE AWARD FOR VOLUNTEER SERVICE/IRON MIKE AWARD FOR YOUTH VOLUNTEER SERVICE. The Fort Bragg Iron Mike Award for Volunteer Service/Iron Mike Award for Youth Volunteer Service is currently accepting nominations. The Iron Mike Pin for Volunteer Service was created by the Installation Volunteer Advisory Council as an elite award for Fort Bragg volunteers who go above and beyond in their volunteer service. The symbol of “Iron Mike” was used because of its significance to the installation. 4.  AIM CYCLE UNIT ANNOUNCEMENTS.

a. U.S. ARMY SECURITY ASSISTANCE TRAINING MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION (SATMO) HAS CRITICAL VACANCIES IN THE AIM CYCLE 23-02. SATMO plans, forms, prepares, deploys, sustains, and redeploys tailored Security Assistance Teams to execute advanced and technical Security Assistance Training missions worldwide; advises and recommends Security Assistance related training solutions to U.S. Diplomatic Missions in order to develop appropriate partner nation security sector capability, support Geographic Combatant Command theater strategies, and strengthen U.S. global partnerships through sustained, embedded forward presence. This is a fantastic broadening assignment that allows Soldiers to develop new skills in unique environments PCSed to Allied and Partner nations around the world or supporting that mission from Fort Bragg, NC. b. 196TH IN BDE CYCLE 23-02 VACANCIES-VIRTUAL TOWN HALL MEETING, 14 OCT AND 17 OCT. The 196th Infantry Brigade is an organization geographically dispersed: Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC), HQs at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, with 1-196th Kapolei, HI, 2-196th JBER, AK, 3-196, Guam, and the SPT BN 196 FT Shafter, HI. The 196th Infantry Brigade is the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) the U.S. Army Pacific’s (USARPAC) Regional Combat Training Center (CTC) in the Indo-Pacific region.  We are seeking motivated officers and NCOs for the 23-02 cycle and enlisted MER. AOC: 11A (GUAM), 12A (KAPOLEI), 13A, 25A, 11A, 19A (FT SHAFTER) MOS: 11Z (E8), 15Z (E8), 25H (E7), 35F (E7). We will conduct two virtual town hall meetings where COL Martin the BDE CDR will answer any questions about the unit and its mission. a. MILPER MESSAGE 22-387, NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL – TERMINATION OF AWARD AUTHORIZATION, ISSUED: [10/5/2022 9:42:59 AM]. This message announces the termination of the National Defense Service Medal. Termination is based on the United States no longer conducting large-scale combat operations in designated geographic locations in response to the terrorist attacks that occurred on 11 September 2001. The National Defense Service Medal is authorized for all Soldiers serving from 11 September 2001 thru 30 December 2022. c. MILPER MESSAGE 22-389, ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR OFFICERS REQUESTING TO DEFER PROMOTION CONSIDERATION (OPT OUT) FROM THE FY23 MAJ ACC PSB, ISSUED: [10/6/2022 9:20:08 AM]. This MILPER message describes the specific eligibility criteria to allow officers to request to defer promotion consideration for (Opt Out of) the FY23 Army Competitive Category (ACC) Major (MAJ) Promotion Selection Board (PSB). This only applies to officers in the Primary Zone of consideration. MILPER Message 19-312 also describes the administrative requirements and effects of this action. d. MILPER MESSAGE 22-390, ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR OFFICERS REQUESTING CONSIDERATION BY (OPT INTO) THE FY23 MAJ ACC PSB, ISSUED: [10/6/2022 9:31:38 AM]. This message describes an update to officer promotions that took effect in FY20, and all officers should be aware of its content and meaning. This change does not affect officers in the Primary or Above Zones of consideration (date of rank ranges shown below). However, it does change the method of consideration for officers below the Primary Zone. Under the new process, officers whose date of rank to Captain (CPT) is later than the Primary Zone must request consideration for promotion to Major. Said another way, officers are no longer automatically considered for “Below Zone” promotion.
