2. UPDATE ON SOLDIERS DEPLOYED TO BORDERS SUPPORT. From Army G-1, Compensation and Entitlements Division: Soldiers currently serving in support of Borders Support are deployed under a “Field Duty Status” and are receiving Government-furnished meals. Units must submit rosters of Soldiers deployed to their serving finance office to begin meal collection deductions and Family Separation Allowance (if applicable). This should be done as soon as the Soldiers deploy; do not wait till the Soldiers return. Waiting till Soldiers return from deployment will cause a huge debt and put Soldiers in financial hardship. See the DODFRM Vol 7A, Ch 25. See your servicing local finance office for details. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/
