1. FUNCTIONAL AREA 58, ARMY MARKETING. From the Army G-1: On August 01, 2019 the Secretary of the Army directed the creation of the Office of the Chief, Army Enterprise Marketing (OCAEM). FA58 (Marketing) is the new career field that “enable[s] the Army to select, educate, and retain Army officers with knowledge and skills in strategic advertising, marketing, and research (Army Directive 2019-25)”. FA58 officers are the talent that will enable the future success of Army Enterprise Marketing. The first selection process will take place in 2020. the initial FA58 Marketing Officer Selection panel. The selection panel convenes o/a 14 Feb 20. Eligible Army officers in the rank of CPT(P) through LTC may submit an application for selection from 10 Dec 19 through 19 Jan 20. 2. UPDATED ANNEX C, LISTING OF SHORTAGE MOS/AOC 1ST QTR FY20, HQDA EXORD 070-19 ISO FY19-20 ACTIVE COMPONENT MANNING GUIDANCE (ACMG). From Army G-1 Readiness: An updated list of “shortage” MOSs and AOCs, with 90 day projected fill rates is provided at the following link. b. FORSCOM G-1/S-1 DECEMBER RECOGNITION ROLL. FORSCOM G-1, AG, HR Training and Assessment Team monitors HR metrics to review Essential Personnel Services (EPS) performance level. The following FORSCOM’s G-1/S-1s demonstrated their excellent support and commitment to Readiness, IPPS-A Data Correctness Campaign Plan and most important taking care of Soldiers: 1st Army East and West, NTC Ops and 1st SFAB are leading the way in Personnel Records Review (PRR) (100%); JRTC is leading the way in DD93/SGLV (99.74% accuracy and timeliness and zero missing DD93/SGLI). The DOD Packaging Innovation Excellence Award and Packing Production Achievement Award were established to recognize excellence within the Army and DOD Packaging Materiel Design community programs. c. ALARACT 086/2019, SEVERE LUNG INJURY ASSOCIATED WITH E-CIGARETTE USE, DTG: R 121317Z DEC 19. Concerns regarding reported cases of severe lung injury and deaths associated with the use of electronic cigarettes continue to intensify. As of 1 October 2019, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have identified 1,080 cases of severe lung injury associated with prior E-cigarette use and 18 deaths have been confirmed. The Surgeon General (TSG) has approved the ADHPLRP as a retention initiative to maintain adequate numbers of selected qualified Army Medical Department (AMEDD) commissioned officers on active duty and within the active component. An Officer Personnel Management Directorate Selection Panel will be conducted on or about 2-3 April 20. The purpose of this panel is to select both commissioned and warrant officers for the Army Experimental Test Pilot Program. If selected, commissioned officers are automatically accessed into the Army Acquisition Corps where they serve the remainder of their careers.
