1. TEMPORARY BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR HOUSING (BAH) INCREASE DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.  The Secretary of Defense has approved a temporary increase in BAH rates for 56 Military Housing Areas due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  These rates are effective for the period of 1 October 2021 through 31 December 2021.  OSD and Army G-1 will issue DFAS SmartDoc messages advising Soldiers on the eligibility criteria and procedure to apply for the increase through their S1/personnel offices. 3. CHALLENGE STUCK POINTS. From the Army Resilience Directorate: When we experience a chaotic or traumatic event, it’s hard to accurately understand what happened and not place blame on ourselves. We tell ourselves stories to help make sense of the situation. Those stories help us reflect on who is accountable, and attempt to understand, grow, and move forward.
