COL Jack L. Usrey, Chief of the AG Corps, announced the additional induction of CW3 Shannon Tyus into the AG Corps DMOR Class of 2015 at the National AG Corps Regimental Ball at the Medallion Conference Center, Columbia, SC on 29 May 2015.
CW3 Tyus earned DMOR recognition as the prototype new generation AG Corps professional. In 2013 he was personally responsible for ensuring the Afghanistan theater made the 101,000 force cap and the subsequent 68,000 force cap in 2014. Because of CW3 Tyus’ efforts accuracy of personnel accountability within the theater positively increased exponentially during his deployment and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Commander provided the President of the United States weekly updates with confidence and was able to tell the President the exact day the theater met the 68,000 threshold. On 10 May 2013 the theater had a 13,299 by-name and social security number discrepancy in the deployed theater accountability system, a 26% deviation. Within 30 days CW3 Tyus wrote a program that was able to reduce the deviation down to .03% and maintained a .25% or lower deviation for the rest of the deployment.
CW3 Tyus’ most recent initiative is AG Tube. AG Tube is nested within the You Tube website at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzDR7Qehue6eP6AEgmkNO3A/featured. AG Tube is a collection of “step-by-step how to” videos geared toward day to day Army HR related tasks and functions. Through the Army HR Community’s feedback on current HR issues or challenges, CW3 Tyus leads the effort to find the subject matter experts that know a solution and/or the AG School develops a solution, thus creating a how-to video and posting it to AG Tube for use by the field.
